The latest version of iOS allows editing sent messages on iPhone in iMessages which will be launched on iOS 16 when the iPhone 14 is announced.

To edit a sent text message, you must long-press the text message, select edit, make your changes and resent. Your recipient will see “Edited” under the text message.

You can also delete a message in iMessages by long-pressing the text message, selecting “Undo send,” and your message will be deleted from your’s and the receiver’s iPhone. Both sender and receiver will be informed about the message being unsent.

Step 1: Long Press

The first step is to long press the message you want to edit on your iPhone.

Step 2: Select Edit

After you long press a message, you will get a drop-down menu. The third item on the list will be “Edit.” Select Edit to make changes to your message on your iPhone.

Step 3: Make changes and re-send.

The last step is to make changes to your message and press send. The message will change on both receiver’s end and your iPhone.

Both the receiver and the sender can see Edited under the message.

This feature is available only on iOS 16 Beta and will be available on all iPhones in October 2022.

Step 1: Long Press

After you long press a message, you will get a drop-down menu. The second item on the list will be “Undo Send.” Click on it to delete your message on your iPhone from both sides.

Both the receiver and the sender will be prompted about the deleted message.
